Final Cut Pro Integration
This guide will show you how to use the mask exported from Vollage in Final Cut Pro to isolate your object from the background.
Step 1
Convert the PNG mask obtained from the Vollage tool into a compound clip Alpha Matte
1. Importing the Mask into Final Cut Pro
- Open Final Cut Pro and create or load your project.
- Go to
File>Import>Mediaand locate your mask file.
2. Adding the Mask to the Timeline
- Press
Ctrl+AorCommand+Ato select all frames. - Press the
E keyto view them on the timeline.
3. Edit the duration
- Press
Ctrl+AorCommand+Ato select all frames. - Press
Ctrl+Dor^Dto bring up the duration control. - Enter your desired duration, for example: 1 minute, and press Enter.
4. Turn the selection into a compound clip
- You can click the space key to play or stop playing.
- Press
Ctrl+AorCommand+Ato select all frames. - Click Option+G to give it a name and press Enter.
Step 2
Use the Alpha Matte video to isolate your object from the background.
- Drag and drop the original video to the timeline.
- Select the mask video at the top.
- Go to
Blend Mode>Stencil Alpha.
